LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men tennis team kicks off its fall season Friday, Sept. 7 at the Boise State Open in Boise, Idaho. The three-day tournament will feature singles and doubles action starting at 9 a.m. on Friday. The Aggies will face players from Boise State, Idaho, Montana State, Utah and Weber State.

"It is an opportunity to work on our game and to work on areas that need to be improved," said Utah State head coach Christian Wright. "It is also a good chance to see some teams that we will be competing against in the spring."

Key returners for the Aggies are seniors Mike Banks and Fernando Gallegos, along with sophomore Oscar Ericsson. Banks finished the 2006-07 season with a 15-8 singles record, playing mostly at No. 5 and No. 6. Ericsson spent last season at No. 1 and No. 2 and compiled an 8-10 record. Gallegos saw action in the No. 3, 4 and 5 slots last year, going 6-10.

The USU men's team will continue action next weekend as they compete in the Brigham Young Invitational in Provo, Utah, starting on Thursday, Sept. 13.
