LOGAN, Utah - Utah State Men's tennis coach Clancy Shields announced final details to the 2013-14 fall and spring schedules.
The Aggies open the fall portion of the schedule with five tournaments, beginning with the Weber State Invitational in Ogden, Utah, Sept. 20-22. Utah State competes at the Boise State Invitational in Boise, Idaho, Oct. 4-6, with the University of Utah Invitational a week later in Salt Lake City on Oct. 11-13. Utah State will compete in its third October tournament when it heads to the ITA Regionals in Las Vegas, Nev., Oct. 16-20. Rounding out the fall schedule is the National Indoor Championships in New York City Nov. 1-4.
USU has a busy spring schedule, as it competes in at least five matches each month, beginning with a road match against BYU on Jan. 11. The Aggies make their first home appearance on Jan. 20, as they take on Idaho State before heading on the road for back-to-back matches in Las Cruces, N.M., against Texas A&M Corpus Christi and New Mexico State on Jan. 24-25.
The Aggies have their first of two separate three-match homestands when they host Montana on Jan. 31, Montana State on Feb. 2, and Seattle on Feb. 7. Utah State then heads back to Salt Lake City to compete against Utah on Feb. 8, before starting the second of its three-match home stands against Weber State and Colorado Mesa, both on Feb. 22, and Idaho on Feb. 28.
Utah State heads on an eight-match road trip starting Mar. 13-15 in Tuscon, Ariz., against Arizona, Fresno State and St. Mary's. The Aggies then travel to Boise on Mar. 22-23 to face Montana and Marquette. The road trip closes with matches against Weber State on Mar. 25, and against Boise State and Middle Tennessee in Boise, Idaho, April 5-6.
The Aggies end the regular season with five-straight Mountain West Conference matches beginning with competing against Nevada in Logan on April. 9. Utah State competes in two road matches against New Mexico and Air Force on April 11 and 13, before finishing the season with two home matches against UNLV and Fresno State on April 18 and 20.
Utah State competes in the Mountain West Championships in Fresno, Calif., April 24-27.
This is Utah State's first season in the Mountain West after leaving the Western Athletic Conference. Utah State completed its final season in the WAC in April with a 4-0 loss to New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament held in Denver, Colo.
