Logan, UTAH - Utah State men's tennis finished the final day of the Utah State Fall Invitational Saturday in Logan, Utah. Playing well for the Aggies was junior Alex Thatcher and senior Mike Banks.

Sophomore and second-seed Jakob Asplund advanced to the semifinals of the singles main draw. He was defeated in the singles semifinal round by fourth-seeded Eric Roberson of Boise State, 7-6, 6-1.

During singles consolation play, Mike Banks upended sixth-seeded Erik Sheldon of Boise State in straight sets, 7-6, 6-2. Alex Thatcher was also successful in his win over Aggie freshman Brandon Nielson, 7-6, 6-1. In the final round of consolation play, Banks defeated Thatcher in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5.

Banks and sophomore Bryan Marchant teamed up in the final round of doubles consolation play against Lukas Bouton and Fernando Gallegos and fell, 8-5.

The Aggie men will continue action October 15-19 at the ITA Regionals in Las Vegas, Nevada.
