LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis will compete at the Arizona Fall Hidden Dual in Tucson, Ariz., Friday, Oct. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 29. The dual will conclude the Aggies fall tournament schedule.

"This weekend will be the last opportunity for our team to compete this fall, and I'm excited to see how we finish," head coach James Wilson said. "I feel like we are headed in the right direction, and the younger players are developing. There will be some solid competition down in Tucson, and I think it will be a good test for our squad."

Eight Aggies will travel to compete in the tournament, where they will face opponents from Arizona, Grand Canyon and Fresno State. Four netters will have an opportunity to break the USU single-season singles fall tournament record, which was set at 14 last year by Kai Wehnelt. Freshmen Addy Vashistha and Jose Carvajal have collected 11 fall tournament singles wins, while senior Andrew Nakajima and freshman Valdemar Holm have 10. Holm also has a chance to break the fall tournament single-season doubles record as he sits at eight wins while the record stands at 10.

Utah State is coming off its run at the ITA Regionals in Provo, Utah, last weekend. Holm led the Aggies as he won the singles consolation draw with a 6-1 finish. Holm and sophomore Sergiu Bucur advanced to the consolation doubles finals, going 4-2 in doubles play. Junior Samuel Serrano advanced to the quarterfinals in singles play after defeating senior teammate Jaime Barajas, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. Serrano finished 4-1 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles with Carvajal. Barajas went 3-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles after advancing to the round of 16 with Nakajima. Carvajal went 2-1 in the main draw of singles play and Nakajima went 4-2 after advancing to the consolation semifinals. Vashistha went 3-2 in singles, freshman Felipe Acosta had a 2-2 singles record, junior Austin Bass was 1-2 in singles play and Bucur also went 1-2 in singles.
