2007 Preseason All-WAC Second-Team
2007 SEASON (Jr.): One of two Aggies to start all 29 games... Named to the Academic all-WAC team... Averaged 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, as well as 3.1 assists, to lead USU and rank tied for fourth in the WAC... Distributed 89 assists to bring her career total up to 296 to give her sole possession of the USU career record for assists... Also swiped 42 steals, which was second on the team... Is eighth on the career steals list with 113 steals and needs 11 to break into the top three... Cracked into the top 10 career points list after scoring 342 points to bring her total to 850... Shot 41.3 percent from the field and 34.0 percent from behind the arc... Tallied a career-high 28 points in home overtime win against Fresno State on Jan. 6... Was named WAC Player of the Wek for her efforts against Fresno State... Scored in double digits in 22 games... Led USU in scoring in 12 games to lead the team
2006 SEASON (So.): Played in all 27 games, drawing 17 starts... Averaged 8.1 points, 2.3 rebounds amd 3.7 assists per game, leading USU and ranking fifth in the WAC... Distributed 99 assists, which is eighth on the USU single-season assist list... Had 21 steals (0.8 spg), to rank second on the team... Shot 35.6 percent from the field and 23.5 percent behind the three-point arc, as well as 72.3 percent from the free throw line, the highest of any Aggie with at least 30 attempts... Netted 15 or more points in five contests... Dished out five or more assists in 10 games, including a career-high nine assists in a loss at Saint Louis on Dec. 30... Grabbed a season-high five rebounds in three different games, including in each of the last two... Had five games with two or more steals... Was a season-best 7-of-10 from the field at Texas A&M on Dec. 28... Played all 40 minutes in three contests and finished the season averaging a team-high 29.3 minutes per game... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
2005 SEASON (Fr.): Was named both honorable mention all-Big West and to the Big West's all-freshman team... Was one of just two players to start all 28 games... Dished-out a team-high 108 assists, which placed her fifth on USU's single-season assist list... Finished fifth in the Big West in assists (3.86 apg) and was the only freshman in the conference to record more than 90 assists... Recorded 53 more assists than any other Aggie... Swiped a team-high 50 steals while finishing sixth in the Big West in that category (1.79 spg)... Scored a season-high 20 points twice, once at Cal Poly (01/08/05) and then again at UC Irvine (02/26/05)... Was second on the team at 10.3 points per game... Shot 41.0 percent (102-249) from the floor and 34.4 percent (21-61) from beyond the arc... Played a team-long 43 minutes at UC Riverside (01/22/05) and finished the year averaging a team-high 31.4 minutes... Two of her three blocks came in her first game as an Aggie (Weber State, 11/19/04).
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner and captain at Hunter High School... Led her team in scoring as a senior, averaging 18 points per game... Richards' scoring average was third-best in class 5A in 2004... Selected all-state and all-region her junior and senior seasons... Named to the class 5A all-star team by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association... Scored 34 points in her final career game... Also lettered three years in volleyball where she was selected honorable mention all-region as a senior... Played for the Utah Avalanch club team.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Ryck and Kelly Richards... Her only brother, Tarell, is a wide receiver on USU's football team ... Born on May 20, 1986 ... Enjoys music, working out and reading... Majoring in elementary education.
