
Utah State Women's Basketball Falls At Louisiana Tech, 62-47, Thursday

RUSTON, La. - Senior center Jenny Gross scored a team-high 14 points as Utah State women's basketball fell at Louisiana Tech, 62-47, here Thursday at the Thomas Assembly Center. Senior forward Jamelah Brown scored 10 points for the Aggies while senior guard Taylor Richards tossed in 10 and tied a career high with eight rebounds as USU was out-rebounded, 49-34. Louisiana Tech snapped USU's three-game winning streak, as the Aggies are now 9-17 on the season and 5-9 in Western Athletic Conference action. The Lady Techsters picked up their second straight win, evening their record to 13-13 and improving to 7-6 in the WAC. Louisiana Tech had two players post double-doubles as Shanavia Dowdell had 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Tarkeisha Wysinger tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds. JoKeirra Sneed added a team-high 14 points and seven rebounds. Utah State finished the game by shooting 31.6 percent from the field (18-of-57) including 3-of-14 (21.4 percent) from three-point range and 50.0 percent (8-of-16) at the free throw line. Louisiana Tech shot 41.4 percent (24-of-58) including 1-of-6 (16.7 percent) behind the three-point arc and 56.5 percent (13-of-23) at the charity stripe. Utah State returns home to host conference leading Boise State (20-6, 12-2 WAC) on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. (MT) in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
