
Utah State Women's Basketball Heads To Hawai'i On Thursday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's basketball team continues its four-game road swing in Honolulu taking on Hawai'i on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 10 p.m. (MT) at UH's Stan Sheriff Center. Utah State is 6-14 on the season after dropping a 75-55 contest at Nevada on Saturday. USU, who is seventh in the WAC with a 2-6 league record, is led by Taylor Richards. The senior guard is averaging 10.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.85 assists per game, while junior guard Danyelle Snelgro is averaging 10.3 points, 2.85 steals and 2.55 steals per game. As a team, Utah State is first in the WAC in free throw percentage (.732), second in steals (9.75 spg), fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.326) and sixth in assists (11.60 spg). Hawai'i, who is 8-13 overall and sixth in the WAC with a 2-6 league record, fell at Louisiana Tech, 90-53, on Saturday. The Rainbow Wahine are led by Tanya Smith's 12.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, while Saundra Cariaga is averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. As a team, Hawai'i is second in the WAC in assists (14.19 apg), rebounding (42.3) and block shots (4.10 bpg). Thursday is the ninth meeting between the Aggies and the Rainbow Wahine, as the series is tied at 4-4, with Utah State winning the first meeting this season, 55-48, on Jan. 9 in Logan. USU continues conference action on the road at Fresno State (13-9, 8-1 WAC) on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. (MT) at the Bulldogs' Save Mart Center.
