Aggie Women's Hoops Hosts Bulldogs Sunday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (8-16, 4-8 WAC) will host Fresno State (16-9, 11-1 WAC) on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. USU is currently on a two-game winning streak after defeating Nevada, 56-48, on Thursday and the Aggies are now 8-16 on the season. Utah State is sixth in the Western Athletic Conference with a 4-8 league record. The Aggies are led by senior guard Taylor Richards' 10.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Junior guard Danyelle Snelgro is averaging 9.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game to go with a team-leading 2.96 apg and 2.46 spg. As a team, Utah State is third in the WAC in free throw percentage (.707), third in steals (9.29 spg) and seventh in assists (11.33 apg). Fresno State, who is 16-9 overall and leads the conference with an 11-1 record, defeated Hawai'i, 75-62, on Thursday. The Bulldogs are led by Tierre Wilson's 15.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, while Jalessa Ross is averaging 11.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. As a team, Fresno State leads the league in field goal percentage (.421), three-point field goal percentage (.348) and assists (15.88 apg). Sunday is the sixth meeting between Utah State and Fresno State, as the Bulldogs lead, 4-1, including winning earlier this season, 69-52, on Feb. 10, at Fresno. Utah State plays its final regular-season road game at Ruston, La. against Louisiana Tech (12-13, 6-6 WAC) on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. (MT) in La Tech's Thomas Assembly Center (8,000).
