USU Women's Basketball Plays At Louisiana Tech On Thursday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (9-16, 5-8 WAC) plays its final regular-season road game at Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech (12-13, 6-6 WAC) on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. (MT) in La Tech's Thomas Assembly Center. Fans can follow the Utah State - Louisiana Tech game and all the Aggie home game through the USU web site at www.UtahStateAggies.com via GameTracker, a free service, which updates play-by-play and statistics throughout the game. The Aggies have won three-straight game, most recently upsetting Western Athletic Conference leader Fresno State, 44-40, Sunday and USU is now 9-16 overall. Utah State is sixth in the WAC with a 5-8 league record. The Aggies are led by senior guard Taylor Richards' 10.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Junior guard Danyelle Snelgro is averaging 9.6 ppg and 3.2 rpg to go with a team-leading 2.96 asists and 2.36 steals per game. As a team, Utah State is third in the WAC in free throw percentage (.706), third in steals (9.36 spg) and seventh in assists (11.24 apg). Louisiana Tech, who is 12-13 overall and is fifth in the conference with a 6-6 record, returns to the court after almost two weeks off. In its last action La Tech defeated San Jose State, 70-54, on Feb. 16. The Lady Techsters' are led by JoKierra Sneed's 16.1 ppg and 10.3 rpg, while Shanavia Dowdell is averaging 11.6 ppg and 7.6 rpg. As a team, La Tech leads the league in rebounding (44.2 rpg) and is second in rebounding margin (+5.7). Thursday is the sixth meeting between Utah State and Louisiana Tech, as the Lady Techsters have won all five previous meetings, including a 71-56 win earlier this season at Logan on Jan. 26. Utah State returns home to host Boise State (19-6, 11-2 WAC) on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. (MT) in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
