LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball concludes the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, March 1 against San José State at 7 p.m. USU will celebrate its two seniors Cristal Turner and Jennifer Schlott after the game against the Spartans.

Utah State women's basketball coach Jerry Finkbeiner captured his 500th career win with a 78-65 victory over San José State at the Event Center Saturday.

The Aggies and the Spartans are very familiar opponents after eight seasons in the Western Athletic Conference together. This is the first season in the Mountain West for both teams.

Overall, Utah State is 12-15 overall and 6-10 in Mountain West action. San José State is currently 10-16 overall and 4-11 in league play. The Spartans have lost three-straight with a road loss to Wyoming and home losses to Nevada and San Diego State.

Utah State holds a 13-5 overall record against San José State. The Aggies have won 12 of the last 13 meetings with the Spartans. SJSU's last win came last season in San Jose, 103-80. USU bounced back, winning the last two games. The Aggies won the first meeting earlier this season, 78-65. Utah State had four players in double figures led by 18 points from Jennifer Schlott.

San José State has four players averaging in double figures, led by Ta'Rea Cunnigan who is second in the league in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per game. Rebecca Woodberry is sixth in scoring with 14.6 ppg, while Classye James is 15th, scoring 12.1 ppg. Jasmine Smith rounds out the group, scoring 10.7 ppg. The Spartans continue to lead the league in scoring, averaging 77.7 ppg, while allowing 86.7 ppg. The Spartans are fourth in the MW in steals with 8.6 spg.

On Saturday, the Aggies will be saying thank you to two seniors. Cristal Turner came to Utah State from Oral Roberts and has spent a total of six seasons as a player of Coach Finkbeiner. Jennifer Schlott is having one of the best single seasons in Utah State history. She is currently fourth in the nation in scoring, averaging 25.8 ppg. After the game against San José State, Turner and Schlott and their families will be honored.
