LOGAN, Utah - Ebony Haliburton has been named Director of Operations for the Utah State women's basketball program, as announced Monday by head coach Jerry Finkbeiner.
A graduate of Oral Roberts University, Haliburton was a student-athlete who played for Finkbeiner from 2004 to 2008. She graduated from ORU in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in marketing and advertising.
"We're excited to complete our staff in adding the director of basketball operations to our program. Ebony will fill that first position. She comes to us with that sense of history and tradition with my programs that she can lend herself to," Finkbeiner said. "It's a position that's been needed here. I look forward to using this position in our staff because it's very important piece of what it takes to run a basketball program."
As the Director of Basketball Operations, Haliburton is responsible for scheduling all team meetings, meals and travel, helping coordinate practices, and act as the liaison between the coaching staff and support staff. She will help coordinate recruiting visits, as well as manage the program's equipment. She will also work closely with the student managers and assist with day-to-day activities of the coaching staff.
From 2008 to 2011, Haliburton was the Director of Women's Basketball Operations and Sports Account Manager for College Coaches Network (CCN). In her role, she was responsible for showcasing athletes, assisting college coaches with their search for talented players and creating lasting relationships with players and college coaches.
As a high school basketball player, she received several prestigious honors. She continued her academic and athletic career at the University of Kansas, Cowley County Community College, and Oral Roberts University. Aside from her on-going commitment to women's basketball, Haliburton appeared in a feature role in the Grammy nominated City Ball documentary film about the challenges urban-core athletes face daily.
She has also been commentator and play-by-play announcer with Metro Sports/Time Warner Cable.
