Danyelle Snelgro Named America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete Of The Week

LOGAN, Utah -
Danyelle Snelgro was named the America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete of the Week, which is voted on by a state media panel, for the period ending on Sunday Dec. 9.
Snelgro, a junior guard from Altadena, Calif. helped Utah State record its second straight victory, defeating Northern Arizona, 65-51, on Saturday afternoon in Flagstaff, Ariz. Snelgro led the team with 13 points, as she was 6-of-10 from the field to go along with six rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block.
On the season, Snelgro is averaging 12.1 points and 3.3 rebounds and is shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 94.7 percent from the free throw line. Overall, she ranks eighth in the nation in free throw percentage and first in the WAC. She is also second in the league in three-point FG percentage (.438) and seventh in assists (2.86 apg).
Snelgro and the Aggies head to Salt Lake City to take on the University of Utah on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. in the Hunstman Center.

MEN'S BASKETBALL - Junior forward Gary Wilkinson (South Jordan, Utah) led Utah State to a 1-1 record last week with an 88-66 win at Cal State Bakersfield and a 72-48 loss at Utah. Against the Utes, Wilkinson recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and then tied his season-high with 21 points at Cal State Bakersfield. For the week, Wilkinson averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 52.4 percent from the field (11-21) and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.
