Of its 45 academic all-WAC selections, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from women's indoor track honored and 15 from men's indoor track, along with five from both gymnastics and women's basketball, and two from men's basketball.
2012 (FRESHMAN) -- Earned second-team all-WAC honors on vault by wrapping up the season with a career-high on vault at the WAC Championships with a 9.825 (5th) and a 9.775 (T-12th) on bars... Opened the season with an 8.925 (12th) on vault and a 9.625 (11th) on bars at Utah... Competed solely on bars for the next five meets, scoring 9.725 (T11th) at the Texas Woman's quad-meet, 9.725 (7th) at the Southern Utah/Boise State tri-meet, 9.350 (10th) against Arizona State and notched her career-high with a 9.850 (6th) against San Jose State... Back on vault, landed a 9.625 (15th) at the BYU tri-meet along with a 9.650 (T12th) on bars... Against BYU, scored a 9.700 (5th) on vault and 8.400 (12th) on bars... Placed eighth on vault at Southern Utah with 9.675 and a 9.750 (3rd) on bars... In the quad-meet at Arizona, matched the 9.675 (11th) on vault and a 9.775 (T-11th) on bars... Was a USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award recipient and earned academic all-WAC honors.
CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL -- Competed for Euro Stars Gymnastics under Peter and Tania Gueorguive... Was named the 2011 Level 10 National Champion on vault and placed eighth on bars... Placed third in the all-around at the 2010 Level 10 National Invitation Tournament... In 2008 she was the Level 9 Regional all-around and bars champion... Placed third in the all-around at 2008 Level 9 Nationals.
PERSONAL -- Major is undeclared business... Daughter of Steve and MaryBeth Betts... Has one brother and two sisters... Enjoys bike riding and hiking... Chose Utah State for the beautiful mountains, the ideal campus size and the comfortable atmosphere on the team.
