CEDAR CITY, Utah - Utah State gymnastics fell to Southern Utah by a score of 192.275 to 194.575 here on Friday night.

The Aggies struggled on bars with two falls which led to a team score of 47.450. From there USU moved to the vault, its strongest event, and scored a 48.725. After two rotations, the Aggies were behind the Thunderbirds by a score of 97.375 to 96.175.

In the third rotation, the Aggies finished with a team floor score of 48.075 to give them a total team score of 144.250 after three events, behind Southern Utah's score of 145.950 after posting a 48.575 on beam.

After a score of 48.025 on beam, the Aggies finished with a final team score of 192.275. The Aggies fell victim to Southern Utah's season high team score of 194.575, after SUU scored 48.000 or better on each event.

USU had individuals place first on bars and the vault. Katy Schilla won the vault for the third-time this season with a 9.825, while Meagan Lewis won the bars with a 9.800. Jessica Parenti-Otte tied for first on the beam with a 9.800, while Nicki Felley and Lewis each scored a 9.725 on floor to tie for fourth.

The Aggies had two season highs on the night. Katie Omann scored her season high on the vault with a 9.800, while Felley scored her season high on the beam with a 9.725.

In the all-around the Aggies were led by Felley's third-place effort with a score of 38.775 in her first all-around competition of her collegiate career.

USU returns to action at home when it hosts Southern Utah in a dual meet on Friday, Feb. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
