Senior Rebecca Holliday, sophomore Paige Jones and freshman Sarah Landes will all be competing in the all-around... This will be Jones' second regional appearance, while it will be the first for Holliday and Landes, after Holliday was named an alternate last year.

THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS FIELD - The three Aggie gymnasts will be joined at North Central Regional Championships by fellow WAC foe San Jose State, along with Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa State, Arizona State and host Utah... USU's three all-arounders will be joined by BYU's Raquel Willman and Linnaea Hance of Air Force... Natalie Pickard of BYU is the vault individual qualifier, while BYU teammate Natalie Pickard is the bars qualifier, and fellow Cougar Krysten Koval is the individual qualifier on floor... Southern Utah's Alyssa Click is the individual qualifier on beam.

ROTATION - Rebecca Holliday will rotate with Iowa State, Paige Jones will be with Minnesota and Sarah Landes will be with Utah... For the first rotation, Holliday will be on vault, Jones will have a bye before bars and Landes will have a bye before floor... The second rotation has Holliday on a bye before bars, Jones on bars and Landes on floor... For the third rotation, Holliday is on bars, Jones is on beam and Landes is on vault... UP NEXT - The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships in Duluth, Ga., April 20-22, hosted by the Gwinnett Center and Georgia Tech... In addition, the event winners at each regional site will advance to the national championships (in that event only) if they are not part of a qualifying team or an all-around qualifier.

USU NCAA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY - This is the fifth year in a row and sixth in last seven that USU did not qualify for regionals as a team, but the Aggies have sent at least three individuals in each of the last five years... The last time that Utah State qualified for regionals as a team was 2007... Last season USU sent five individuals, after sending three in 2010, five in 2009, six in 2008 and two in 2006... Utah State went to regionals as a team 21 times from in 24 years from 1983-2007, including 17-straight times from 1986-2002... One of USU's five individuals will be trying to become the first national qualifier for the Aggies since all-arounder Amber Jamison in 1999. {See pg 5 for more details}.

THREE TOGETHER - USU's three individuals will be familiar with being together in action Saturday, as they are all three together in order on the Aggies' roster.

CAREER-BEST POSTING - All three of USU's NCAA regional participants posted their Aggie career-bests this season, an easy feat for the freshman Sarah Landes, but more notable for sophomore Paige Jones and even more of an accomplishment for the senior Rebecca Holliday.

ABOUT UTAH STATE'S THREE INDIVIDUALS - Senior Rebecca Holliday, sophomore Paige Jones and freshman Sarah Landes will all be competing in the all-around.

This will be Jones' second regional appearance, while it will be the first for Holliday and Landes, after Holliday was named an alternate last year.

Holliday, a native of Orange, Calif. (Foothill HS/South Coast Gymnastics), has an all-around RQS of 38.400, averaging 38.404 this season. She posted her career-best of 38.925 this season in a tri-meet at BYU with Southern Utah on Feb. 25, and added a 38.900 to place seventh Saturday in the WAC Championships, for her two marks of 38.900 or better. This season, Holliday set new career-highs in all four events plus the all-around.

Entering the regional championships, Holliday is ranked 18th in the all-around in the North Central region and tied for 104th in the NCAA with a 38.400 RQS, with a season-average of 38.404 as well as a season and career-high of 38.925... On vault, she is tied for 52nd in the region with a 9.545 RQS... Holliday has a bars RQS of 9.780, ranking tied for 27th in the region, posting an average of 9.764 with a season and career-high of 9.875... On beam, Holliday is 38th in the region with a 9.780 RQS, with a season-average of 9.764 along with season and career-best of 9.875... Holliday has a 9.745 floor RQS, ranking tied for 40th in the region, as well as posting an average of 9.669 on the season with a season and career-high of 9.800.

Jones, a native of Smithville, Mo. (Smithville HS/Edge Gymnastics), competed on floor and vault at last year's North Central Regionals at Denver, where she was 40th on vault with a 9.550 and 39th on floor with a 9.425. This season, Jones has a 38.865 Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) in the all-around, averaging 38.608 on the year. She posted her career-best 39.200 in a home dual against BYU on March 5, for one of her two scores topping the 39.000 mark. On Saturday at the WAC Championships, Jones was eighth in the all-around with a 38.650. Jones has two all-around wins this season, coming in back-to-back meets, winning it in the dual vs. BYU on March 5 with her career-high 39.200, while also nabbing first in a dual at Southern Utah on March 9 with a 38.975.

In the rankings, Jones is 14th in the region and tied for 76th in the nation in the all-around with a 38.865 RQS, averaging 38.608 on the year with a season and career-high of 39.200... Jones is tied for 17th in the region on vault with a 9.810 RQS, 9.768 season-average and 9.875 season and career-high... On bars, Jones is tied for 20th in the region with a 9.850 RQS, posting a 9.596 season-average with a season and career-high 9.875... Jones is 41st in the region on beam with a 9.640 RQS, averaging 9.528 and a season and career-high of 9.775... On floor, Jones is tied with teammate Landes for 16th in the region with a 9.815 RQS, with Jones averaging a 9.741 with a season and career-best mark of 9.850.

Landes, an Edmond, Okla. (Deer Creek HS/Dynamo Gymnastics), native, has a 38.935 all-around RQS, with a season-average of 38.713. She notched her career-high of 39.350 on Feb. 10 in a home dual vs. San Jose State, one of her five scores of 39.000 or better this season. Landes earned second-team all-WAC honors by placing sixth in the all-around at the WAC Championships with a 39.125, also earning first-team all-WAC accolades by tying for second on floor with a career-best 9.875. Landes has two all-around wins this season, collecting the crown in a tri-meet with Southern Utah and Boise State on Feb. 27 with a 39.255 and taking top honors in a dual with Sacramento State on Feb. 17.

Landes is ranked 12th in the region in the all-around with a 38.935 RQS, and is the top-ranked Aggie gymnast in the national rankings at No. 69... She has a 38.713 season-average with a top score of 39.350... Landes has a 9.755 vault RQS, good for tied for 33rd in the region, averaging a 9.733 with a season-high of 9.825... On bars, she has a 9.795 RQS, ranking tied for 23rd in the region, averaging a 9.642 with a top mark of 9.875... Landes is tied for 35th in the region on beam with a 9.690 RQS, as well as a 9.608 average and 9.875 top score... On floor, Landes is tied with teammate Jones for 16th in the region with a 9.815 RQS, averaging a 9.729 with a top mark of 9.875. {See pg 9 for complete rankings}

WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER - USU now has had six different gymnasts earn event wins, collecting 18 event titles, including four Aggie gymnasts tying for the bars title vs. SJSU on 2/10, part of a five-way logjam for the event title... Freshman Sarah Landes and sophomore Paige Jones lead the team with seven event wins, with Jones winning six last week with three each in the BYU and SUU duals... Senior Rebecca Holliday has five while junior Amelia Montoya and freshmen Kaitlyn Betts and Susie Miller have one each.

CAREER-HIGHS FOR 15 PLEASE ALEX - Utah State posted a season-high 15 career-highs on the way to its season-high 194.875 in the San Jose State dual on Feb. 10, including all six in the bars line-up... Freshman Sarah Landes led with five (all four events + all-around), followed by two by senior Rebecca Holliday (bars and beam), sophomore Paige Jones (bars and all-around) and junior Amanda Watamaniuk (bars and floor), as well as one each by junior Amelia Montoya (bars), along with freshmen Kaitlyn Betts (bars), Ashley Follett (beam) and Susie Miller (floor).

SUPER 16 - The 16 gymnasts on USU's 2012 roster is the most on an Aggie roster since 2006, after having 15 on the 2011 roster, 13 on the 2010 ledger, 12 on the 2009 roster... USU had 14 gymnasts on each of the 2008 and 2007 rosters, while having 16 on the 2006 roster.

BEEHIVE STATERS - Utah State has three gymnasts from the state of Utah in senior Haley Hogan (Centerville/Viewmont HS/North Davis Gymnastics), sophomore Christina Nye (North Logan/Logan HS/Tytans Gymnastics) and freshman Ashley Follett (American Fork, Utah/American Fork HS/All American Gymnastics).

LAST TIME OUT - Utah State gymnastics notched its second-best score of the season with a 194.775 on the way to a fifth-place finish at the Western Athletic Conference Gymnastics Championships on March 24 at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

WAC newcomer Denver won the team title with a 196.350, while Sacramento State was second with a 195.675. Southern Utah was third with a 195.025, while San Jose State was fourth with a 194.800 and USU was fifth. The Aggies' fifth-place finish matches last year's finish, while the 194.775 score was their second-best WAC Championships score behind a 195.175 in 2007 at Cedar City, Utah, hosted by Southern Utah, site of next year's WAC Championships.

SJSU's Thomasina Wallace was named the WAC Gymnast of the Year, as well as the all-around champion with a 39.400. Sacramento State's Kim Hughes was tabbed the WAC Coach of the Year in a vote by his peers and Kalliah McCartney of Sacramento State was named the Freshman of the Year.

Denver's Moriah Martin and Melodie Pulgarin Linero shared the vault title with 9.900's each, while Southern Utah's Alyssa Click nabbed the bars crown with 9.925. Kailey Hansen of Sacramento State collected the beam victory with a 9.925 and the floor title with a 9.900.

Freshman Sarah Landes earned a pair of all-WAC honors, collecting first-team honors by tying for second on floor with a season-best 9.875, the highest score on floor for the Aggies this season. Landes also earned second-team all-conference accolades in the all-around, finishing sixth with a 39.125. Senior Rebecca Holliday earned second-team all-WAC honors by placing fourth on beam with a career-best 9.875. It was her third all-WAC honor of her career and the 9.875 ties the fourth-best in school history, becoming the 25th Aggie gymnast with a 9.875 or higher.

Freshman Kaitlyn Betts tied for fifth on vault to earn second-team all-league honors with a 9.825 and fellow freshman Christina Nye nabbed a tie for sixth on floor with a career-high 9.850 for second-team all-conference accolades. The Aggies' five all-WAC awards ties 2008 for the most in USU's seven years in the conference.

USU started on bars, with Landes opening with a 9.775. Holliday followed with a 9.750, and junior Amelia Montoya was next with a 9.725. Sophomore Paige Jones followed with a 9.800, then Betts scored a 9.775 and Nye closed things out with a 9.625, giving USU a 48.825.

The Aggies moved to beam next, with freshman Ashley Follett scoring a 9.625, followed by Landes with a 9.725 and Jones posted a 9.475. Senior Haley Hogan nabbed a 9.650, while redshirt-freshman Samantha Wagner notched a 9.725. Holliday ended the rotation with her career-high and tied the team high of the season with a 9.875 that gave the Aggies their second-best beam total of the season with a 48.600. On floor for the third rotation, Follett registered a career-high 9.700, then Holliday followed with a 9.750, and Montoya recorded a 9.800. Jones then notched a 9.825, Landes scoring a career-high 9.875 and Nye ending with a career-high 9.850, for USU's season-best 49.100 on floor.

For the fourth rotation, the Aggies were on vault, and Holliday started with a 9.525, followed by Landes with a 9.750. Betts scored a 9.825 with Jones getting a 9.550. Rounding out the vault scores were Montoya with a 8.300 and freshman Breyanna Aufiero with a 9.600. USU had a bye for the fifth rotation, while everyone else finished.

A GLANCE AT THE AGGIES' REGIONAL PARTICIPANTS

Rebecca Holliday - Notched a 9.575 on beam (9th) at Utah dual... At the Texas Woman's quad, registered a 9.750 on bars (10th)... Recorded a new career-high with a 9.750 on floor (T9th), as well as tallying 9.775's on both bars (5th) and beam (4th) in the tri-meet with Boise State and Southern Utah... Had a career night in the dual vs. Arizona State, winning her first event title of her career with a 9.800 on bars and also notched her official career high with a 9.800 on floor (T5th), after posting that mark in an exhibition performance as a sophomore, and also added a 9.775 on beam (T2nd)... Competed in the all-around for the first time since freshman season in the San Jose State dual, and was on pace for career-best night before suffering a fall on floor, finishing with 38.450 (5th), but also shared the bars title with career-high 9.875 as well as notching career-best 9.850 on beam (T3rd), and also scored 9.550 (T10th) in first vault of season, as well as scoring 9.175 on floor (10th).... Earned fourth win in a row by sharing beam title at the BYU tri-meet with a career-high tying 9.850 as part of career-best 38.925 in the all-around (2nd), also tying career-high with a 9.700 on vault (14th), along with a 9.725 on floor (11th), and a 9.650 on bars (T12th)... Was sixth in the all-around at the Boise State dual, recording 9.725 on bars (11th), as well as 9.575 on floor (12th), 9.550 on vault (8th) and 9.125 on beam (11th)... On Senior Night, was fourth in the all-around with a 37.900, notching 9.750's on both bars (T6th) and floor (T6th), as well as 9.450 on vault (T11th) and an 8.950 on beam (12th) in the dual vs. BYU... Collected fifth event win of the season by taking top honors on bars at the Southern Utah dual with a 9.800, part of her 38.300 in the all-around (3rd), adding 9.750 on floor (T7th), 9.550 on vault (12th) and 9.200 on beam (10th)... Was fifth in the all-around with a 38.925 at the Arizona quad, registering 9.775 on bars (T11th), 9.750 on floor (12th), 9.550 on vault (18th) and 9.300 (18th) on beam... Earned second-team all-WAC honors by finishing fourth on beam in the WAC Championships with a career-high 9.875, as well as placing seventh in the all-around with a 38.900, posting 9.750 on both bars (T15th) and floor (T21st), along with a 9.525 on vault (25th).

Paige Jones - Did not compete in the dual at Utah... In first action of season at Texas Woman's quad, finished fifth in the all-around with a career-high 38.525, including tying career-best on vault with a 9.825 (5th), as well as notching 9.800 on floor (T8th), 9.700 on bars (T13th) and 9.200 on beam (17th)... In the tri-meet with Boise State and Southern Utah, made mark in school record books with a 9.875 on vault (T2nd), the fourth-highest score in school history, as part of tallying a 38.125 in the all-around (4th), recording 9.750 on floor (T9th), 9.650 on beam (12th) and 8.850 on bars (18th)... Notched a 37.400 in the all-around (4th), posting 9.850 on floor (T2nd), 9.800 on vault (T3rd), 9.100 on beam (12th) and 8.650 on bars (12th)... Shared bars title in San Jose State dual with a career-best 9.875, while also posting 9.775's on both vault (2nd) and floor (7th), along with 9.625 on beam (9th) for career-best 39.050 all-around (3rd)... Sarah Landes - Had smashing collegiate debut, notching a 38.825 in the all-around to finish third and also tied for fourth on the bars with a 9.825 and was the lone Aggie in the top five of any of the four events, also posting a 9.700 on beam (7th), a 9.675 on vault (7th) and 9.625 on floor (8th)... At the Texas Woman's quad meet, improved on her all-around score with a 38.925 to finish second, as well as bettering her vault score with a 9.725 (T9th), and improving with 9.750's on both beam (T7th) and floor (T10th), while posting a 9.700 on bars (T13th)... Named the Gymnast of the Meet in the Boise State and Southern Utah tri-meet, setting personal bests on beam, floor and her all-around competition with a winning score of 39.225, making her mark in the USU record books in the process as her winning beam score of 9.875 is tied for the fifth-best score in school history, while her 39.225 all-around score was just outside of USU's top 20 individual all-around performances... Also scored career-highs of 9.825 on floor (3rd), 9.725 on vault (12th) while also posting 9.800 on bars (3rd), just .025 off top score... Registered a 39.000 in the all-around to finish as USU's top all-arounder and third overall in the dual vs. Arizona State, posting a 9.825 on floor (T3rd), as well as 9.725's on vault (T5th), bars (T7th) and beam (T5th)... Improved on career-high all-around score with 39.350 (2nd) in the San Jose State dual one of her five career-marks on the night, also sharing both bars and beam titles, both with 9.875's along with career-bests of 9.850 on floor (T2nd) and 9.750 on vault (T3rd)...
