Utah State Has 112 Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-WAC Honors This Spring

Of its 57 academic all-WAC selections from its spring sports, Utah State had 23 student-athletes from women's outdoor track honored, along with 15 from men's outdoor track, six from softball, five from both men's tennis and women's tennis, and three from the men's golf team.

In all, approximately 51 percent of USU's student-athletes earned a 3.2 GPA to qualify for the awards.

2014 (JR): Played in all 20 matches... Scored one goal on the season with the game-winning goal against San José State (Oct. 10)... Played a season-high 43 minutes against Idaho State (Sept. 5)... Ended the season with nine shots, with three on goal... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors and was a Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award recipient... Part of the USU squad that earned its 12th-straight NSCAA Team Academic Award.

2013 (SO): Played in all 22 matches, starting five... Scored only goal of the season in a road win against Colorado State (Oct. 18)... Played a season-high 90 minutes at Utah (Sept. 22)... Played at least 18 minutes in all 22 matches... Ended the season with five shots on goal and six total shots... Had a season-high two shots against Utah Valley (Aug. 26) and Nevada (Sept. 27)... Part of the USU squad that earned its 11th-straight NSCAA Team Academic Award... Earned all-MW academic honors and Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete... Named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

2012 (FR): Played in all 22 matches, starting 11... Scored one goal and one assist for three points... One of three freshmen to score a point along with Lexie Henrie and Jeannie Woller... Scored her first collegiate point with an assist in a win against Texas State (Oct. 7)... Her first goal was a game-winning goal in a 2-1 road win at Seattle (Oct. 12)... Played in a season-high 91 minutes in a tie against Creighton (Aug. 24)... Played at least 20 minutes in every match... Started five-straight matches from Oct. 5 to Oct. 19... Took 14 shots, eight of which were on goal... Part of the USU squad that earned its 10th-straight NSCAA Team Academic Award... Named Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete and academic all-WAC.

High School: Four-year varsity player at Lone Peak High School in Alpine, Utah under head coach Heather Dahl... Played on Region 5 championship team... Team qualified as state semi-finalists... Named first-team all-state her senior year by the Salt Lake Tribune... Named Utah's KJZZ player of the week... Scored 35 career goals... In 2009, named first-team all-region and Outstanding Midfielder... Earned all-state 5A honorable mention honors in 2008 by the Deseret News... Earned first-team all-region honors in 2011 by the Deseret News... Named to the all-region 5A second team in 2008... Utah Olympic Development Program member, Region IV pool participant, national development camp participant... Won the President's Day Tournament in February 2010... Played club soccer for Utah Avalanche with current Aggie Jeannie Woller under head coach Joanna Barney.

Personal: Daughter of Jacob and Linda Hamblin... Second-youngest of six children... Majoring in exercise science.
