Five Utah State Soccer Players Earn All-Mountain West Honors

Aggies earn spots on three all-conference teams.

HONORS: All-Mountain West First-Team (2016); National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Pacific Region Third-Team (2016); Academic All-Mountain West (2015).

2016 (SO): Earned first-team all-Mountain West honors, as well as NSCAA all-Pacific third-team accolades... Played in and started 19 matches, missing two with an injury... Anchored the backline that allowed 23 goals and posted seven shutouts on the season... Played the full match in 18 appearances, including a season-high 98 minutes at Air Force (Sept. 30) and at UNLV (Oct. 23)... Part of the USU squad that earned its 14th-straight NSCAA Team Academic Award.

2015 (FR): Saw time in 19 matches, making 13 starts... Helped anchor the USU defense that allowed 24 goals on the year... Played the full 110 minutes in double-overtime draws at Gonzaga (Sept. 6) and against Boise State (Oct. 30)... Took one shot on the season at Wyoming (Oct. 25)... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors and was a Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award recipient... Part of the USU squad that earned its 13th-straight NSCAA Team Academic Award.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner at Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah, for coaches Brian Freeman and Lativa Palmer... Earned first-team all-state honors and was named team Defensive MVP as a senior... Helped lead her team to the state championship quarterfinals or beyond in each of her seasons... Earned all-state first-team honors as a junior and senior with honorable mention recognition her first two seasons... Finished her high school career with 14 goals... Also spent six seasons playing club soccer with LaRoca for coach Pancho Ovalle... Team won five-straight Utah State Cup championships (2011-15)... Ended the 2015 season with a regional championship and a semifinal appearance in the national tournament... Also played basketball in high school.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Bart and Trudi Andersen... Oldest of three children... Majoring in marketing.
