Utah State Soccer Signs Nine for 2014 Season

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head soccer coachHeather Cairns announced Friday that nine players have signed with Utah State for the 2014 season.
"This is a strong class of soccer players with ECNL, national and regional premier league and ODP experience who are anxious to compete for a Mountain West Conference championship. They are also great students and individuals who will positively represent Utah State University in the classroom and in the community," Cairns said.
The Aggies have signed six players from the Beehive State, including midfielderKacey Bolingbroke (Clearfield, Utah/Clearfield High School), forward Wesley Hamblin(Alpine, Utah/Lone Peak High School), midfielders Bailee Hammond (Centerville, Utah/Viewmont High School), defender Danielle Nowers (Draper, Utah/Alta High School), midfielder/defender Erin Rickenbach(Ammon, Idaho/Hillcrest High School) and defender Rachelle Warner (Orem, Utah/Timpanogos High School).
Utah State also adds one player from California, Tennessee and Virginia with the signing of forward Rachel Carroll (La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla High School), forward/midfielder Josie Deere (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin High School) and goalkeeperGrace McGuire (Falls Church, Va./Falls Church High School).
Utah State returns eight starters and 21 letterwinners from last season's squad that ended its inaugural season in the Mountain West with a 10-7-5 overall record and a 5-3-2 league record. The Aggies advanced to the semifinals of the MW Tournament before falling to eventual champion San Diego State. Defenders Brooke Larsen-Leavitt and Taryn Rose, who both earned second-team all Mountain West honors, will both return for the 2014 season.
