LOGAN, Utah - Utah State senior goalkeeper Sara Cobb has been named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.

Cobb (Freehold, N.J.) helped Utah State to a pair of shutout wins this weekend. The Aggies defeated South Dakota State, 1-0, in double overtime, and topped Montana, 2-0. Cobb made her first-career start against the Jackrabbits, and recorded the first full shutout of her career. She recorded three saves against South Dakota State, topping that with a career-best five against Montana.

This is the first Mountain West Player of the Week award for Cobb, and the first of the season for a Utah State player. Last year, three Aggie players earned a Mountain West weekly award.

Utah State (2-0-0) returns to action this week in a pair of matches. The Aggies will play at No. 20 Utah (1-0-0) on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m., and will host Cal State Fullerton (2-0-0) on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m.
