LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer will play its home-opener Sunday, Aug. 24 at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field against Seattle University. The Aggies look to recover from a tough 2-1 double overtime loss to Idaho State in Pocatello on Aug. 22.

This is the first meeting between the Aggies and the Redhawks. Seattle is transitioning from Division II where the Redhawks advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season. Seattle earned its first ever Division I win on Friday with a 2-1 win over Weber State in Ogden.

In USU's first match of the season, junior forward Erin Salmon scored the Aggies only goal off the assist from Heather Pond. USU played without senior forward Candice Clark who is out with an injury.

The Aggies look to improve upon their 5-7 record in home-openers. Utah State's last win in a home-opener came against instate rival Weber State in 2006, 1-0 in double overtime. Last season, Oregon spoiled the Aggies first home match with a 1-0 win over USU. The Aggies will look for a little revenge when they travel to Eugene to take on the Ducks next week. USU will face Oregon on Aug. 29 and Oregon State on Aug. 31.

Live stats will be available for the match against Seattle through the women's soccer page on www.utahstateaggies.com, by clicking on GameTracker in the current events box.

Admission to all Utah State home soccer matches is free.
