Utah State Soccer Returns To Action At Cal State Fullerton Sunday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer looks to rebound after a tough, 3-2, loss to No. 25 Nebraska on Friday by heading to Fullerton, Calif., to take on Cal State Fullerton in a road match on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. (MT).
The loss Friday was the first of the season for USU as it fell to 4-1-1 on the season.
The Titans hold a 6-4-0 advantage over the Aggies. The last time they met was in 2011 when Cal State Fullerton edged out a 1-0 double overtime win in Logan.
So far this season, the Titans are 3-2-1. CSF has earned wins over USU's Mountain West foe Fresno State along with Montana. It has played two other Beehive State teams with a loss against BYU and tie against Utah. Cal State Fullerton also has a loss against Texas Tech. Christina Burkenroad leads the team in scoring with one goal and one assist for three points. Lindsey Maricic has played four matches in goal this season, allowing four goals for a 0.77 GAA.
USU is 2-0-0 on the road this season with wins at UTEP and Idaho State. The Titans are 3-0-1 at home in 2013.
The Aggies are led by senior defender Taryn Rose, who is also the team's leading scorer with three goals for six points. Utah State has had eight different players score a goal this season, while 13 different Aggies score a point.
Following Sunday's match against Cal State Fullerton, Utah State will take on a pair of Beehive State opponents. USU will begin the week facing Utah in Salt Lake City on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. The Aggies will end the week hosting Weber State on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field.
