Aggie Soccer Concludes Road Trip Sunday Against Seattle University

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State will take on Seattle University on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. MT, to conclude a four-match road trip. The Aggies look to get back on track after falling to No. 25 Washington on Friday night.
Last season, the Aggies defeated the Redhawks, 2-1, in Logan. In that match, defender Lindsey Smart scored the first goal on a penalty kick. Forward Shantel Flanary scored the game-winning goal off an assist from goalkeeper Ali Griffin. That was the first meeting between Utah State and Seattle.
Flanary is first on USU in points scored with four goals and two assists for 10 points. Junior forward Lauren Hansen is second on the Aggies in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points. She and Flanary both have one game-winning goal. Junior Stefani Shiozaki is third on the team in points scored with five after having only one point her first two seasons. Shiozaki broke through with her first collegiate goal in the tie with Wyoming and an assist in the win against Stephen F. Austin.
Next week, Utah State will play a "home" match against Utah on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. Rio Tinto Stadium is the home of Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake. This is the first match that the Aggies have played in a professional stadium.
USU's next true home match with take place on Oct. 1 against Idaho State. Utah State will conclude the week at BYU on Saturday, Sept. 26. The kickoff for that match has been changed from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
