LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer returns to action Sunday, Oct. 6 in Mountain West Conference play against Wyoming. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and will be USU's conference home opener.

The Aggies had a unscheduled day off after their match against Air Force was postponed due to the partial government shutdown. Utah State volleyball also had its match against the Falcons postponed, that match was scheduled for Saturday night.

USU is currently 5-4-2 this season and 1-1 in MW action after defeating UNLV, 3-2, on Sept. 29.

Wyoming fell to 4-7-1 overall and 1-1 in Mountain West play after falling to Boise State, 2-1, on Friday in Boise. Sara Paul scored the Cowgirls only goal in the second half after the Broncos had already jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

The Cowgirls hold a slight 3-2-2 series advantage over the Aggies. Last season, the teams battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie in Logan. In 2009, the teams once again tied 1-1 in double overtime in Logan, while the 2008 meeting saw the Aggies win, 2-1, in Laramie. In the seven meetings between the teams, they have tied twice and three have been decided by one goal.

After going four matches without a goal, Utah State broke through with two against UNLV on Sept. 29. The Aggies made the most of their seven shots, scoring on two of them. The scoreless streak was the longest in school history. In 2011, USU did go three matches without scoring. Freshman midfielder Jayne Robinson's head broke the streak with a header in the 36th minute.

Admission to all home USU soccer matches at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field is free.
