Utah State Soccer Opens Weekend at Wyoming Friday
Utah State soccer (6-5-3, 1-3-2 MW) returns to the road this weekend, as it continues Mountain West play at Wyoming (7-5-2, 3-2-1 MW) on Friday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m.

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer (6-5-3, 1-3-2 MW) returns to the road this weekend, as it continues Mountain West play at Wyoming (7-5-2, 3-2-1 MW) on Friday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m.

All Mountain West matches will continue to be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats and play-by-play information will be available through GameTracker, while updates will also be provided through the team’s social media outlets. Links to each option will be available online prior to every match.

Wyoming opens the weekend with a 7-5-2 overall record, going 3-2-1 in Mountain West play. Last weekend, the Cowgirls split a weekend of road action, topping Nevada, 4-2, before falling to UNLV, 1-2. Redshirt junior forward Brittney Stark leads the Wyoming offense with six goals on the year. Senior Georgia Rowntree has played the majority of the teams’ minutes in the net, where she has allowed 12 goals and tallied 56 saves. Wyoming returns 16 letterwinners and eight starters from last year’s squad that went 10-8-2 overall and 6-4-1 in the conference, finishing fifth. Pete Cuadrado is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Cowgirl program, where he has an overall record of 53-47-15.

All-time, Utah State is 6-4-2 against Wyoming. The teams met twice last year, both in the regular season and in the Mountain West tournament, with the Aggies taking the victory in both contests. Utah State’s last trip to Laramie came in the 2015 season, where Cowgirls topped the Aggies, 2-1.

For the Aggies, freshman midfielder Ashley Cardozo is the leading scorer, netting six goals so far this season, while she and senior forward Wesley Hamblin lead with four assists each. Senior Sara Cobb leads the goalkeepers with 67 saves and 15 goals allowed over the year, earning a 1.04 goals against average.
