Utah State Soccer Returns Home to Face Fresno State Friday

LOGAN, Utah - After playing nine of its last 10 matches away from Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field, the Utah State soccer team returns home to host Fresno State on Friday, Oct. 16.
Utah State is now 7-7-1 overall and 2-1 in Western Athletic Conference action. The Bulldogs are 4-9 overall and 2-1 in WAC action. After the Aggies dropped their first WAC match against Nevada in Reno, they bounced back with road wins against Boise State and Idaho last week.
Fresno State holds a 4-1-2 series lead over Utah State. The last meeting between the two teams was for a trip to the NCAA Tournament in the WAC Championship match in Reno, Nev., last November. It took double overtime for the Bulldogs to defeat the Aggies, 2-1. In the regular season, Utah State earned its first ever win against Fresno State with a 1-0 win in Logan last season.
With a goal against Idaho on Oct. 11, sophomore forward Shantel Flanary passed her point and goal total from her fabulous freshman campaign. Flanary now has six goals and two assists for 14 points, passing her 12 points from 2008. She now has 11 goals which is tied for eighth on the Aggies all-time goals scored list. Junior forward Lauren Hansen is third on the all-time goals scored list with 23.
Following the match against Fresno State, the Aggies will remain at home to take on San Jose State on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1p.m.
