Kelli Allred Named USU Athlete Of The Week

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer goalie Kelli Allred was named the Utah State Athlete of the Week for the period ending October 23 it was announced Monday. This is a weekly award selected by a state media panel.
Allred helped Utah State clinch its first ever postseason appearance as she preserved a 0-0 tie with five saves at Fresno State on Sunday. This was her second shutout of the season. The sophomore recorded three saves in the Aggies' 2-1 overtime loss at Nevada on Friday.
"Kelli was our MVP [Sunday]," said head coach Heather Cairns said. "She was phenomenal and came up with some great saves to help us stay alive."
With their tie against Fresno the Aggies' moved to a record of 2-2-1 in the WAC. They currently sit sixth in the WAC standings and will look to gain a higher seed as Boise State and Idaho visit Logan this week for USU's final two matches of the regular season.
The Aggies travel to Boise, Idaho for the WAC Tournament which will be held at the Boas Soccer Complex, Nov. 3-5.
Allred is the second straight soccer player to win the Athlete of the Week award.

Football- Leon Jackson... sophomore led the team in rushing for the third time this season with 22 carries for 49 yards. He connected on 16 of 29 attempts for 206 yards. Jackson completed three touchdown passes on the night, which is a career high.
Tennis - Joao Pinho... senior finished 4-2 at the ITA Regional Tennis Championships after losing a second-round match to 12th-ranked James Ludlow. In the consolation rounds he won three matches. In doubles, Pinho and JJ Netto advanced in the doubles competition winning 9-7.
Volleyball- Erin Graybill... senior had nine kills and four block assists in Utah State's three-game loss at 11th-ranked Hawai'i.
