LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's softball team (2-2, 0-0 WAC) heads to Las Vegas, Nev., to compete in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic hosted by UNLV, Feb. 17-19. USU will play seven games in four days due to the relocation of Monday's games against in-state foe Southern Utah, which were previously cancelled due to heavy snow fall in Cedar City, Utah, but rescheduled for Monday in St. George.

The Aggies will open the long weekend action on Friday against a pair of teams from the Golden State, Cal State Northridge at 2:30 p.m. (MT), followed with a bout against UC Riverside at 7 p.m. The match-up against CSUN will be the 47th meeting between these two teams, with the Matadors holding the advantage, 28-18, in the series history. USU will conclude Friday's play against UCR, the series history is tied, 8-8. Former Aggie head coach Candi Letts and former Aggie player and assistant coach Michell Vlahos are currently assistant coaches with the Highlanders.

Utah State will only play a single game on Saturday, Feb. 18, as it takes on Big Ten opponent Indiana. First pitch is set for 4:45 p.m. USU hold a 4-1 advantage over the Hoosiers in the series history, the last time these two teams met was on Feb. 16, 2008, a game which the Aggies won, 6-5.

Concluding the Aggie's play in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, Utah State will play two games on Sunday, Feb. 19. In the first game of the day, USU will meet Texas Tech at 12:45 p.m., this will be the first match-up with the Red Raiders since 2001. The Aggies will then gear up to take on their second ranked opponent of the season as they face No. 25 LSU at 2:30 p.m.

Utah State will make a short pit-stop on its way home from Sin City on Monday, in sunny St. George, to take on a Beehive State rival SUU. The meeting between these two teams was cancelled due to heavy snow fall in southern Utah, however, the match-up is back on and action will be played on Dixie State's home field, the Karl Brooks Softball Field. Monday's doubleheader action is set for a high noon first pitch, with the second game of the day is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
