Utah State has won five-straight games to improve to 10-13 this season.

The Mountain West plays three single games, beginning on Friday. So USU and CSU will meet up on Friday, March 21 at 3 p.m. The series will continue on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. and conclude on Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Colorado State is off to a hot start and stands in first place in the Mountain West standings with a 15-5 record, winning its last five games.

The Aggies are 28-19 all-time against the Rams. The two teams met last season in the second game of the year when CSU captured a 4-3 win against USU at the Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah. So far this season, the Rams are third in the Mountain West in battling average, hitting .300 this season. Danielle Wikre is second in the conference in slugging percentage (.807) and fourth in batting average (.421).

The three-game series against Colorado State will be the Mountain West opener for the Aggies. Utah State ended its eight-year run in the Western Athletic Conference with a 2-6 record. Last season, USU fell just short against San José State, 2-1 in its final WAC opener. The Aggies and the Spartans will meet again this season as members of the MW in Logan April 4-6.

This is the Aggies' earliest home opener since a 2-0 loss to Boise State at home to start WAC play in 2009. Last season, USU was scheduled to begin its home schedule on March 20, but weather pushed the home opener back to March 29.

Freshman Victoria Saucedo is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, which is her second-longest of the season after a six-game hitting streak earlier this season. Saucedo also has a team-high eight-game on base streak. Sophomore Sarah Chow has been on base in six-straight games.
