LOGAN, Utah - Utah State softball looks to ride the momentum gained in Wednesday's offensive outburst against Idaho State into this weekend's three-game series with Western Athletic Conference foe UTSA.

This weekend's series will also be highlighted with special events in support of the cure of breast cancer, as USU partnered with Swing For Life to help raise awareness and funds in support of breast cancer research and services. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to all three of this weekend's games.

Representatives from Swing for Life Inc. will be on-site selling items with the proceeds going to breast cancer research. USU Softball will also have a silent auction items (team autographed balls, helmets, shirts, etc.) for fans to bid on each day. Donations and pledges will be collected throughout Friday and Saturday's games. All funds raised will be donated to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

On Wednesday, USU scored a season-best 12 runs agianst ISU. Powering the Aggie offense was junior infielder Allison Lenzora, who went 3-for-4, scoring three runs and producing two RBI.

Utah State also had three players blast homeruns in the game, as seniors infielder Christine Thomsen, pitcher Mandy Harmon and sophomore infielder Nicole Arata all recorded a homerun in the game.

It was Arata's third homer of the season, which is leading the team. Harmon's line drive over the leftfield fence was her second of the season, while Thomsen's was her first of the year.

USU will now turn its attention to new-WAC member UTSA, who comes is coming off a series last weekend with San Jose State. The Roadrunners captured the opening game of the series but dropped the final two games against the Spartans.

It will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Roadrunners are currently tied with Louisiana Tech for third in the conference, as they have a 4-2 record in WAC games and a 19-14 overall record.

The Aggies will closeout the weekend action against UTSA with a single game on Saturday, April 6. Opening pitch is set to be delivered at 1 p.m. (MT). As always, admission to Johnson Field is free and fans are encouraged to come support Utah State.
