Utah State Women's Tennis Concludes Weekend With 4-2 Win Over UC Riverside Saturday

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Utah State women's tennis team captured a split weekend in Las Vegas, as they defeated UC Riverside 4-2 Saturday. Poor weather conditions and high winds forced the delay of start of the match and the teams to forgo playing the doubles matches. Utah State improves to 3-2 on the season.
Leading the way for the Aggies was senior Hailey Swenson in the No. 2 position as she defeated Jamie Raney, 6-2, 6-3. Swenson was able to get the first point of the match for USU and they never looked back. Sophomore Kristina Voytsekhovich brought the highlight of the match as she dropped her opening set 2-6 to Nadia Sakhakorn before rallying to capture a 6-3 win that forced a tiebreaking third set. Voytsekhovich took control of the third set en route to a 6-2 win and another point for the Aggies' cause. Junior Brianna Harris and sophomore Jacyln West also got wins for USU at the number six and number one positions, respectively.
Up next, Utah State women's tennis will face Eastern Washington on Monday at Noon at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club before hitting the road for three matches in Texas. The Aggies' home match is free to the public.
