TUCSON, Ariz. -
Utah State women's tennis fell at Arizona, 7-0, Saturday. With the loss USU is now 2-4 on the season.
At No. 1 singles, sophomore McKenzie Davis was defeated in straight sets by Lacey Smyth (6-2, 6-2). At No. 2 singles, senior Jaci West fell in straight sets to Kim Stubble (6-4, 6-0). At No. 3 singles, senior Kristina Voytsekhovich fell to Laura Oldham in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) and at No. 4 singles, senior Julie Tukuafu was defeated by Akilah James in straight sets (6-1, 6-1). At No. 5 singles, freshman Kallie Sperry fell to Shayne Austin in straight sets (6-1, 6-3), and at No. 6 singles, sophomore Hillary Hays fell in straight sets to Inge Hendrix (6-2, 6-2).
In doubles play, Davis and West fell to Smyth and Stubble at the first possition (8-5). At the second position, Tukuafu and Voytsekhovich were defeated by Austin and Hendrix 8-1. And at the third position, Hays and Sperry were taken down by James and McRann (8-5).
The Aggies will now travel to Las Vegas, Nev. on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9 to take on UNLV and UC Riverside. Both matches are scheduled for 10 a.m. (MT) start times.
