LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis beat Cal State Bakersfield Saturday, 6-1, to improve to 6-9 this season.

USU's Hailey Swenson defeated Ashley Thorneycroft, 6-1, 6-0, in the No. 2 singles spot. At No. 3 singles junior Bridgette Strickland battled Cal State's Kaydee Graham and came out victorious in a 6-3, 7-6, 9-7 match. Marie Livingston finished out the No. 6 singles seat with a, 6-0, 6-0, win over Leslie Begley.

In doubles action, Britney Watts and Swenson defeated Sara Mijwel and Ashlee Thorneycraft, 8-2, in the No. 2 spot. Teammates Taylor Perry and Johnson also beat Cal State's No. 3 team of Begely and Kasselstrand.

The Aggies will play again Tuesday, April 1, at 1 p.m. hosting Idaho State at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
