Women's Tennis Sweeps Lewis-Clark State

BOISE, Idaho - Utah State's women's tennis team improved to 9-9 this season after defeating Lewis and Clark 7-0 here Saturday morning. Utah State started off strong winning all three doubles matches to take the doubles point. Moving into singles action the Aggies continued to play well, winning all but one match in two sets. Lindsey Bennion led the way for the Aggies as she took the No. 1 spot 6-3, 6-1. Jill Smith, Carolyn Stephens, Courtney Anderson and Lauren Monson all went on to win their matches in two sets at No. 2, 3, 4 and 6. At No. 5 Andrea Barker won the first set 6-0 but lost the second set 3-6 before finishing things off in the third set 6-4. This was the Aggies third and final match in Boise this weekend. On Thursday Utah State fell 7-0 to Boise State before beating Gonzaga on Friday, 5-2. The Aggies will play again on Wednesday, April 6 in Logan where they will take on Hawai'i at 1 p.m.
