Utah State Women's Tennis has tough day at BYU Invitational

PROVO, Utah - Utah State women's tennis completed the first day of the BYU Invitational in Provo, Utah. The Aggies competed well, but will not continue onto Friday's action. Playing well for the Aggies were sophomore Hailey Swenson and senior Bridgette Strickland. In the round of 32, Taylor Perry fell to Romina Nedakovic of BYU, 6-3, 6-3, in flight A singles. Strickland took a loss against Laura Neal of CSU, 6-1, 7-5, also in flight A singles during the round of 32. Swenson was successful in the round of 32 with a win over Elizaveta Ezhova of BYU, 6-4, 6-4. Swenson moved onto the round of 16, but then lost to Lauren Strasburger of CSU, 6-3, 6-2. During flight B singles play, Cady Andelin faced Lauren Mulhern of CSU and lost, 6-3, 6-2, in the round of 16. Marie Livingston fell to Utah's Lisa Johnson, 6-4, 6-0, during the round of 16. Andelin and Jennifer Johnson faced Leigh Walsh and Dee Dee Nelson from Utah, and lost, 8-3 in the round of 32 of flight A doubles. Strickland and Swenson received a bye during the round of 32 play, and moved onto the round of 16 to face Julie Tukuafu and Andrea Maughan from Utah. Strickland and Swenson took a loss, 8-5. The Aggies will continue action Friday, Sept. 19 at BYU. Flight A Singles Round 32:
