Davis Continues Domination For USU Tennis in Day Two of the Jack Taylor Classic

BOISE, Idaho - Sophomore women's tennis player McKenzie Davis led the Aggies to a strong second day at the Jack Taylor Classic in Boise, Idaho, hosted by Boise State University. Davis will play in the Blue Flight Championship on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
For the second-straight day, Davis had a dominating performance on the court. In the quarterfinals, the sophomore defeated Sammie Watson of Boise State in straight sets (6-2, 6-2.) She continued her winning ways against another Bronco, Teal Vosburgh (6-3, 6-1). In two matches on Saturday, Davis lost only four games.
In doubles play, Davis and partner senior Jaci West remained in the Blue Flight main draw after a dominating win (8-1) over Boise State's Morgan Basil and Sammie Watson in the semifinals. The Aggie duo will take on Sandy Vo and Marlena Pietzuch of BSU in the finals on Sunday.
In the White Flight, sophomore Hilary Hays and freshman Ashley Stuhlmann had success on Saturday. The pair defeated Helon Ricks and Lexi Siliol of Eastern Washington (8-5) to take the White Flight title.
Both freshman Amber Stuhlmann and senior Julie Tukuafu played in the Orange Flight consolation draw. Amber Stuhlmann reached the semifinals after teammate freshman Kallie Sperry was unable to compete due to injury. Tukuafu defeated Michelle Warwick of Weber State (6-1, 6-3).
The Aggies will conclude action in Boise on Sunday, Sept. 30.
