LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The doubles team of junior McKenzie Davis and sophomore Kallie Sperry advanced out of the round of 32 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championship.

In the second day of the doubles tournament, Davis and Sperry, fresh off of a first round bye, defeated Denver's Charlotte Derbyshire and Michelle Garpenlov (8-6) to advance to the round of 16. Freshmen Cassidy Branstine and Lexi Turley fell to in-state rival and overall number-one seeded Utah's Paige Miles and Tereze Bekerova (8-1).

In Thursday's singles play, Davis and Sperry both lost in the round of 64. Davis fell to BYU's Morgan Anderson (6-7, 6-4, 6-4), while New Mexico's Lizette Blankers defeated Sperry (6-2, 6-3).

Both Davis and Sperry will be in action Friday in the doubles bracket, while, weather permitting, the consolation brackets will begin, as well.
