Utah State Women's Tennis Finishes Action in Utah State Fall Invitational Saturday
Oct. 11, 2008 Logan, UTAH - Utah State women's tennis finished action Saturday at the Utah State Fall Invitational in Logan, Utah. Playing well for the Aggies were sophomore Hailey Swenson and senior Bridgette Strickland. During the flight A singles final, Swenson faced USU teammate Strickland with Swenson defeating Strickland in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Taylor Perry received a bye during the semifinal round flight B singles consolation play. She moved onto play Weber State's Caroline Drugge losing, 6-2, 3-6, 10-7. During the doubles semifinals, Strickland and Swenson teamed up to face freshman Monica Calleja and Perry. Strickland and Swenson were successful with a win over Calleja and Perry, 8-2. Strickland and Swenson went on to play in the doubles final. The pair faced Drugge and Karlie Hancock of Weber State. Strickland and Swenson won the doubles final with an 8-3 decision over Drugge and Hancock. During doubles consolation play, junior Cady Andelin and junior Marie Livingston paired up to face Keya Adamson and Brittiny Moore in the semifinal round. Andelin and Livingston were defeated by Adamson and Moore, 8-2. Aggies continue play Oct. 15 in the ITA Regional Tournament in Salt Lake City.
