LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's tennis team is set to open up the spring dual match season by traveling to Chicago to face three teams in three days as they face Chicago State on Friday, Jan. 31, at 5 p.m. (MT). The Aggies also face South Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 8 a.m. (MT), and Valparaiso on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. (MT).

"We are very excited to be opening up our spring season in Chicago," said first-year head coach Sean McInerney. "I am looking forward to watching us compete against three very solid and well coached programs."

The Aggies are hoping to build off a strong fall season that led to junior McKenzie Davis and sophomore Kallie Sperry earn a regional pre-season doubles ranking. The Aggie duo was ranked sixth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's mountain region's pre-season doubles rankings after they finished with a 6-2 record, including a run to the quarterfinals of the ITA Mountain Region tournament.

Freshman Lexi Turley ended the fall with a 5-3 singles record, while fellow freshman Katie Sweet posted a 3-2 record, including a run to the finals of her flight at the Boise State hosted Jack Taylor Classic. The Aggies also saw contributions from sophomores Amber Stuhlmann and Ashley Stuhlmann and freshman Cassidy Branstine. Freshman Nini Guensler has yet to make her Aggie debut after joining the team in January.
