McKenzie Davis Named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State junior McKenzie Davis (Salt Lake City, Utah) has been named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 12-18, as selected by the conference office and announced Wednesday.
Last week, Davis won all three of her singles matches at the No. 1 position to stay perfect on the season as she helped the team to a 2-1 record. She is now 6-0 in dual-match play. Davis lost just one of the seven singles sets she played she played during the week, defeating Agata Bachanek of Weber State, (6-3, 6-2) Victoria Lozano of Idaho (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Moira Hedberg of Eastern Washington, (6-2, 6-3). In doubles action, Davis partnered with Kallie Sperry at No. 1 doubles, where they took down duos from Weber State (8-4) and Eastern Washington (8-7), while falling to Idaho (8-3).
This is the second time this season Davis has earned Mountain West honors and her fifth conference honor overall, as she won the Western Athletic Conference player of the week twice in her freshman season and once as a sophomore.
San Diego State's Hendrik Jebens was named the men's Player of the Week.
This week, the Aggies are off to Seattle, Wash. for a pair of matches against former WAC rival Seattle and Gonzaga. Actionn begins at 8 p.m. (MT) on Friday, Feb. 21.
