April 24, 2017

LOGAN, Utah - For the second-consecutive season, Utah State women's tennis (12-10, 2-3 MW) will play in the No. 8/9 match at the Mountain West Championship, it was announced Monday by the conference office. The Aggies, as the No. 8 seed, will face the No. 9-seeded San Diego State Aztecs in the opening round on Thursday, April 27, at 11 a.m. (MT), in Las Vegas, Nev.

The winner of the match will face the top-seed and tournament host, UNLV, on Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. (MT). Other first-round action includes No. 7 Air Force against No. 10 New Mexico and No. 6 Boise State taking on No. 11 Colorado State.

The Aggies and Aztecs have never faced each other on the courts despite being in the same conference for four seasons due to the division setup of women's tennis in the Mountain West.

The rest of the tournament field includes No. 2 Fresno State, No. 3 San José State, No. 4 Wyoming and No. 5 Nevada, with each of the top-five teams earning a first-round bye.

Live stats and stream links will be available at and will be posted on prior to the match on Thursday.
