Women's Tennis to Begin Second Fall Tournament
Sept. 26, 2013
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's tennis team travels to Pullman, Wash., to compete in the Washington State Invite, the team's second competition of the fall.
The tournament is set to begin Friday, Sept. 27 and conclude Sunday, Sept. 29.
The Aggies look to build off the success they had at the Jack Taylor Classic last week, where freshmen Lexi Turley (Kaysville, Utah) and Katie Sweet (Salt Lake City, Utah) each won three singles matches and one doubles match.
Junior McKenzie Davis (Salt Lake City, Utah) won her first singles match before sitting the rest of the tournament with an injury. Kallie Sperry, a sophomore out of Salt Lake City, won two singles matches and her first doubles match with Davis.
Also competing in the Washington State Invite are Boise State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Montana State, Lewis-Clark State, Seattle and Portland.
This will be USU's second time this fall competing against Boise State, Idaho, Montana State, Seattle, and host Washington State.
