COACHSPEAK: Kaitlyn has always been a nice hitter off of one foot, but she has increased her range and is as effective behind the setter as in front of the setter. She understands our blocking system and brings a lot of experience and a quiet confidence to the court.
QUICKLY: Enters senior season with 394 block assists, currently at No. 2 on USU's career block assists list, needing six more to become just the second player in USU history with 400 career block assists, as well as 26 more to tie Denae Mohlman (1997-2000) with 420 career blocks assists for the USU record... Has 416 total blocks, needing 61 more to tie Mohlman for the No. 1 spot with 477.
2013 SEASON (JR): Started and played in all 31 matches and all 116 sets, one of four Aggies to play in all 31 matches and one of three players to play in all 116 sets... Posted school-record for single-match best attack percentage with 10-14 attempts with an .818 attack percentage (9-0-11) against Fresno State on Nov. 16, topping the previous mark of .786 (11-0-14) by Rebecca Anderson in 2008... Finished third in the Mountain West and 36th in the NCAA in blocks with 1.30 blocks per set, notching eight solo and assisting on 143 for a total of 151... Also ranked 15th in the MW overall with a .285 attack percentage (250-89-565)... Was also ranked third in MW-only for blocks with 1.40 per set, posting eight solo and 93 block assists for 101 total blocks... Also 13th in the league in MW-only for attack percentage with .299 (169-60-365)... The 151 total blocks was No. 4 on USU single-season list, while the 143 block assists was also No. 4 on single-season list... Logged 250 kills, with double-digit attacks in 10 matches... Set career-best with 13 kills against Colorado State on Nov. 2... Logged 17 assists and 50 digs on the season... Had seven service aces, highlighted by a career-high three against Fairfield on Aug. 31... Went to Tanzania for a month during the summer before the season on volunteer service trip with HELP International program... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors as well as Mountain West Scholar-Athlete accolades.
2012 SEASON (SO): Started and played in all 30 matches and 111 sets, one of three Aggies to start all 30 matches, one of six to play in all 30 matches as well as one of five to see action in all 111 sets... Earned second-team all-WAC honors after ranking fourth in the WAC and 30th in the NCAA in blocks per set (1.33)... Finished season with 148 total blocks with 138 block assists and 10 solo blocks... The 148 total blocks is tied for No. 6 on USU single-season list, while the 138 block assists is No. 6 on single-season list... Logged six or more total blocks in total of 11 matches, highlighted by career-high 12 blocks vs. Sacred Heart on Sept. 1, adding 10 blocks each vs. Seattle on Sept. 20 and against Denver on Oct. 6... Logged two solo blocks against Sacred Heart on Sept. 1, tying career-high, as well as adding a then career-high nine kills in same match... Posted five or more kills in 17 total matches, and added eight in four other matches... Tallied a .188 attack percentage (146-70-404) with a 1.32 kills per set average... Added 11 assists, dishing out two helpers each at UTSA on Sept. 13 and at New Mexico State on Nov. 3... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
2011 SEASON (FR): Appeared in 27 matches, earning 24 starts, while playing in 98 sets... Ranked fourth in the WAC at 1.19 blocks per set... Was second on team with 117 total blocks, just outside of the USU top 10 single-season list, as her 113 block assists were the 11th-most in school history... Posted six or more total blocks in nine matches, highlighted by then career-high nine at Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 17... Registered 103 kills, while hitting .188 (103-55-256), setting her then-career-high of seven twice, first at Weber State on Sept. 6 and at Nevada on Nov. 10... Finished the season with 17 assists and 29 digs... Earned academic all-WAC accolades.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Earned all-state honors three-straight seasons at Alta (Utah) High School... Also helped her club team, Club Utah, win three-straight region championships and finish in first-place at two different qualifiers... A member of the honor roll and recipient of the all-state academic volleyball scholarship.
PERSONAL: One of five children of John and Jana VanHoff... Enjoys snowboarding, traveling and being in the outdoors... Majoring in art.
