Rachel Gale is from Lindon, Utah, and played for Pleasant Grove High School, where she was named the Utah Class 5A Most Valuable Player by the Deseret News, as well as earning first-team, all-state honors by the Salt Lake Tribune. She was also named to the all-Salt Lake Tribune Team.

A 6-0 outside hitter, Gale posted 414 kills (4.2 kills per set), 216 digs (2.2 digs per set) and 24 blocks (0.2 blocks per set) during her senior season, in helping the Vikings to a 25-6 overall record and their second-straight 5A state championship, tallying 23 kills in the title match.

Gale was also selected to play in the 2013 Utah Senior All-Star match for the 5A Senior All-Star team. She also was selected as one of the top 10 high school athletes for Utah County. Gale also earned second-team all-state honors during her junior season. A four-year letterwinner for the Vikings, Gale was a three-time, all-region honoree, earning first-team accolades as a senior after earning second-team honors as both a sophomore and junior. She was also named to the Durango Classic all-tournament team as a junior.

Off the court, Gale is a two-time Pleasant Grove High School Academic Achievement High Honor Roll member.
