DuBose Inks Pair Of Outside Hitters In Taylor Barnson And Rachel Gale
COACHSPEAK: Taylor is learning how to be a better and better outside hitter. She has a heavy arm and will learn better ball control as we progress through her career.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: A four-year letterwinner at Chaparral (Calif.) High School... Helped lead Chaparral HS to a 23-10 record during her senior season, helping the Pumas finish second in the Southwestern League of the CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA... Earned first-team all-Southwestern League accolades as a senior after earning second-team all-league honors during junior season... Was a two-year team captain... Earned first-team all-Foothills Tournament honors in helping Chaparral HS to the Foothills Tournament and Queen of the Court Silver Division titles... Also earned the Southwest Division middle blocker of the week honor once as a junior, shifting back to outside hitter as a senior... Off the court, was a four-time California Scholarship Federation member, as well as a two-time Presidential Service Award recipient... Was voted by her teammates for the Athlete of Character award for both her sophomore and junior seasons... Also earned the Puma of the Year Award... Was also Chaparral High School's selection for the Jim Staunton Champions for Character Award.
