Utah State volleyball will open its 2017 home slate this weekend, hosting Pacific, Montana State and UC Santa Barbara during the USU Invitational, Sept. 1-2. The Aggies will open the tournament on Friday, Sept. 1, welcoming Pacific (1-2) to Kirby Court at the Wayne Estes Center at 7 p.m. USU will then play two matches on Saturday, hosting Montana State (1-2) at noon and UC Santa Barbara (0-3) at 7 p.m., respectively. Other matches during the tournament include UC Santa Barbara against Montana State on Friday, Sept. 1, at 4 p.m., Pacific against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m., and Pacific against Montana State on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 4:30 p.m. Utah State is 7-29 all-time against the Tigers, 9-3 all-time against the Bobcats and 5-34 all-time against the Gauchos.

Aggie Volleyball Rallies From Two-Set Deficit For Five-Set Victory Over Pacific Saturday
Down two sets to none, Utah State volleyball rallied for the 3-2 (16-25, 11-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-11) five-set win over Pacific Saturday morning at the University of Portland Nike Invitational in a match played at Portland State's Peter W. Stott Center.

USU Volleyball Sweeps Montana State, 3-0
DENVER, Colo. - Utah State women's volleyball hit a season-high .308 (43-11-104) on Friday afternoon en route to a three-set sweep over Montana State, 25-15, 25-16, 25-19, in the opening match of the Pioneer Invitational at the University of Denver.

Former Big West Foes
Utah State will renew old rivalries when Pacific and UC Santa Barbara come to Logan this weekend. USU faced both schools as a member of the Big West Conference from 1990-2004.

Arkansas All-Tournament Team
Senior outside Lauren Anderson and junior libero Tasia Taylor were named to the Arkansas Classic all-tournament team. Anderson finished the weekend with 41 kills, 18 digs and five service aces, hitting .279 (41-10-111). Taylor recorded double-digit digs in all three matches, totaling 53 on the weekend and averaging 5.30 per set.

Mountain West Team Leaders
Following the opening weekend of competition, Utah State leads the Mountain West behind the service line, averaging 2.50 service aces per set. The Aggies are also among the top five in the league in hitting percentage (.258, third) and digs per sets (14.40, fourth).

Mountain West Individual Leaders
Junior middle Lauren O’Brien leads the Mountain West with a .568 (23-2-37) hitting percentage, while several other Aggies are among the top five in other categories. Junior setter Kassidy Johnson is third in the league in both assists per set (10.90) and service aces per set (0.70) and senior outside Lauren Anderson is third in the MW with 4.10 kills per set. Anderson is also tied with senior middle Carly Lenzen for fifth in the Mountain West in service aces, averaging 0.50 per set, respectively, and is tied for second in the league in points per set, averaging 4.85. Junior libero Tasia Taylor is second in the league in digs, averaging 5.30 per set.

Swing Away
Senior outside Lauren Anderson recorded the most attempts of any Mountain West player last weekend with her career-high 69 attempt-effort against CSU Bakersfield. Anderson finished the match with 22 kills, one shy of her career high. It was the third time that Anderson had surpassed 20 kills in a match during her career.

Dig In
Junior libero Tasia Taylor tied for the most digs in a match among Mountain West schools last weekend with her 25-dig performance against CSU Bakersfield last weekend. The total marked a new career high for Taylor, eclipsing her previous career high of 13.

Dig Streak
Taylor has opened the year with three straight matches with double-digit digs, including a career-high 25 against CSU Bakersfield.

Mirror Images
Utah State opponents matched the Aggies point-for-point over the first three matches this season. USU recorded a total of 170.0 points over the first three matches and hit .258 (126-33-361), identical to its three opponents that also recorded 170.0 points and hit .258 (141-49-357).
