Utah State volleyball (13-11/5-7) continues its 2017 season this week and opens a three-match road swing at Colorado State (22-2/12-0) on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. The trip continues at Wyoming (13-11/8-4) on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m.
The Series with Colorado State
Colorado State leads the all-time series with Utah State, 26-14, and has won all nine meetings since Utah State joined the Mountain West in 2013.
The Last Time Against Colorado State
Senior outsides Lauren Anderson and Rachel Gale-Hammond led the USU attack with 11 and 10 kills, respectively, as the Aggies hit .174 (38-19-109). Colorado State was paced offensively by Jasmine Hanna with 13 kills and Sanja Cizmic with 12 kills, as the team hit .306 (47-13-111) overall. USU junior libero Tasia Taylor led all players on the back row with a match-high 18 digs.
The Series with Wyoming
Wyoming leads the all-time series against Utah State, 19-16, and has won each of the last six. Prior to the six-match run, USU had won six straight against the Cowgirls.
The Last Time Against Wyoming
Senior opposite Kayla DeCoursey led the Utah State attack with 10 kills, hitting a team-best .269 (10-3-26), but overall, USU hit a then-season-low .076 (26-19-92) as a team. Wyoming was led offensively by sophomore outside Tara Traphagan with a match-high 14 kills, hitting .571 (14-2-21). Cowgirl libero Lily Austin led all players on the back row with a match-high 10 digs. Junior middle Reed Copeland led the Wyoming block with seven as the Cowgirls totaled 10.0 to Utah State’s 4.0.
No Ace for You
Utah State had a perfect serve receive against UNLV on Oct. 28, marking the first time this season that a USU opponent has not recorded a service ace.
Utah State head coach Grayson DuBose secured his 100th conference victory at the helm of the Aggies with USU’s 3-0 win over UNLV on Oct. 28.
Junior libero Tasia Taylor etched her name in the Utah State record book, logging 25 digs in USU’s 3-set victory over UNLV on Oct. 28. Taylor broke the previous school record of 24 digs in a 3-set match set by Christine Morrill on Nov. 4, 2010, against Boise State.
Utah State recorded a conference sweep over UNLV this season with a 3-1 victory in Las Vegas on Sept. 28, followed by a 3-0 victory in Logan on Oct. 28.
