Lauren Anderson Named All-Mountain West
Nov. 27, 2017

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior outside hitter Lauren Anderson has been named all-Mountain West as release by the conference office on Monday. The award is the second consecutive all-conference accolade for Anderson and marks the first time since the 2014 that an Aggie has earned two all-conference honors in their career, and the first time since 2013 that an Aggie has been honored in back-to-back seasons.

Anderson led the Aggies this season with 446 kills, ninth all-time in a single season in Utah State history, and finished the year second in the Mountain West in both kills per set (4.13) and points per set (4.68). Anderson hit .261 (446-157-1,109) during the year, best among outside hitters for Utah State this year and finished her career with a hitting percentage of .253 (851-291-2,214), ninth-best in school history.

Anderson is the first Aggie since 2014 to earn a pair of all-conference honors in her career, when senior Kaitlyn VanHoff was named all-Mountain West, coupling the award with a 2012 all-conference award from the Western Athletic Conference. Elle Brainard was the last Aggie to earn back-to-back all-conference citations, picking up all-WAC honors in 2012 and all-MW accolades following the 2013 season.

Anderson has already graduated from Utah State and will continue her master’s degree program at Florida State, where she is anticipated to play with the Seminoles’ beach volleyball program in the spring.
