Mike is entering his third year serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at Utah State. Overall, this is Williams' 17th year working at Utah State. He is the head trainer for the football team, while providing support for USU's 15 other NCAA Division I programs.
Williams began his athletic training career at Utah State where he received a Bachelor's of Science in exercise science. He attended graduate school at the University of Idaho and graduated with a Master's of Science in sports administration in 1997. Prior to working at Utah State, Mike worked for Intermountain Health Care as an athletic trainer and served as the head athletic trainer for the Idaho Stampede of the CBA.
Mike was raised in Arimo, Idaho. He enjoys riding his motorcycle in his spare time.
Wells comes to the Aggies by way of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he served as the athletic trainer for men’s basketball and coordinated athletic medical insurance since 2012. Prior to his time with the Panthers, Wells worked for three years with the football and men’s basketball teams at Augustana College in South Dakota.
Wells was a graduate assistant at Minnesota State-Mankato from 2007-09, earning a master’s degree in exercise physiology, and earned an undergraduate degree in athletic training from Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2007.
Jessica Achatz is in her third season as an assistant athletic trainer at Utah State. Achatz works primarily with Utah State's women's basketball program, as well as providing support for the Aggies' other programs.
Achatz came to Utah State after spending two years at Adams State (Alamosa, Colo.), where she earned her master's degree in exercise science in 2015. The native of Rocky Ford, Colo., was a graduate assistant trainer with the Grizzlies, working with the men's soccer program for two years, women's basketball program for a year and men's lacrosse program for a year. Prior to earning her master's from Adams State, Achatz worked for an orthopedic company. She earned her bachelor's from North Carolina in 2010.
Achatz graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 2006, lettering in both basketball and volleyball for the Meloneers. During her senior season, Achatz earned all-state accolades in basketball.
Laura Parry, MS, ATC Assistant Athletic Trainer
Parry is returning to Logan, having earned a master’s degree in exercise science from Utah State while serving as a graduate assistant with football and women’s soccer during the 2011-13 seasons. During her time with the Aggies, football made a trip to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and women’s soccer captured a WAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
After graduating from Utah State, Parry worked just over three years at Virginia Commonwealth (VCU), where she was the athletic trainer for the women’s soccer team.
Leah Dunagan, MS, ATC Assistant Athletic Trainer
Dunagan spent six years at Bridgeport (Conn.), where she worked with the volleyball, gymnastics and women’s lacrosse teams and served as the insurance coordinator for Purple Knight student-athletes. Prior to Bridgeport, Dunagan was a graduate assistant at North Carolina State, working with women’s soccer and volleyball and assisting with the gymnastic and co-ed cheer-leading teams.
