Will Horlbeck, ATC, CSCS
Whitworth University
Will is in his first year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working for Utah State University. His primary sport is football.
Will graduated in 2012 from Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology. During his senior year at Whitworth, Will primarily worked with the baseball team. Will is currently working on his Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.
Will was born in Boulder, Colorado and is an avid CU fan. He enjoys hiking, camping, baseball, and football.
Emily Silva, ATC
University of Pacific
Emily is in her first year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Utah State University. Her
primary sport assignment is women's gymnastics.
Emily is currently working on her Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an
emphasis in Sports Medicine. She graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2012 with
a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Emily currently finished her term as District 8
Representative for the National Athletic Training Student's Committee. In 2010 she graduated
from Modesto Junior College with an Associate of Science in Athletic Training and an Associate
of Arts in Natural Sciences.
Emily is the daughter of Al and Marsha Silva and was born and raised in Ripon, California. She
was a competitive acrobatic gymnast for 14 years and also enjoys dancing, singing, baseball,
football, and outdoor activities. Her favorite sport is baseball, Go Giants!!!
Crystal Davisson, ATC
Brigham Young University
Crystal is in her first year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Utah State University. Her primary sport for the fall is Football. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Health & Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.
Crystal graduated from Brigham Young University in 2011 with her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training. She worked in several clinical settings, including with football, women's basketball, swimming & diving, track & cross country, in a physical therapy clinic, and at a high school.
Crystal was born in Abingdon, Virginia, but was raised in Pine, Arizona. She enjoys being outdoors, reading, watching the Tour de France, and spending time with her husband, Jeff, and her cats, Roger and Lucy.
Jill Cole, ATC
University of Texas at Arlington
Jill is in her first year as a Graduate Assistant at Utah State University. Her primary sport is softball.
She graduated in 2012 from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. During her undergraduate program she worked with the men's and women's track and cross country teams, the women's volleyball team. Jill also worked with various other clinical settings outside of UT-Arlington athletics. Jill is currently working on her Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.
Jill was born and raised in Red Oak, Texas. She enjoys the outdoors, volleyball and loves the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Jill is looking forward to experiencing all of the outdoor activities not available in Texas.
Nicholas Rech, ATC, CSCS
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Nicholas Rech is in his second year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Utah State University. He
worked with women's gymnastics his first year and is currently with football.
Nick graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska-
Lincoln. While at Nebraska he worked with the wrestling and track & field teams. He is currently working
toward his Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis on Sports Medicine.
Nick was raised on a farm near Ulysses, Neb. He enjoys mountain biking, trapshooting, nature walks,
snowboarding, gardening, swing dancing and country music.
James Hoover, ATC, CDSS
Slippery Rock University
James Hoover is in his first year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for Utah
State University. His primary sport is Track and Field.
James graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science
in Athletic Training. While at Slippery Rock University he worked with Women's
Volleyball, Football, University Clinic, Women's Lacrosse, and Karns City High
School. Currently James is working on his Master's of Science degree in Health and
Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.
James was raised in Vermilion, OH and enjoys running, cycling, snowboarding,
hiking, basketball, football and most any other sport.
Jake Pierce, ATC, CSCS
Whitworth University
Jake Pierce is in his first year as a Graduate Assistant at Utah State University. His primary sports are men and women's cross country and track and field.
He graduated in 2012 from Whitworth University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. During his time earning an undergraduate degree he worked with the Whitworth Pirates football team and the Spokane Chiefs WHL hockey team.
He is currently working on his Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. Jake was born and raised in Twin Falls, ID and he enjoys watching sports and being with friends and family.
Mallory Hale, ATC
University of Vermont
Mallory Hale is in second year as a Graduate Assistant at Utah State University. This year she will be working with the football team. During her first year at USU she worked with men's & women's track & field.
She graduated in 2010 from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. During her undergraduate program she worked with the men's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, women's ice hockey and field hockey teams.
She is currently working on her Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. Mallory grew up in Durango, Colo. She enjoys skiing, camping and hiking.
Melanie Sfara, ATC
Slippery Rock University
Mel is in her second year as a Graduate Assistant at Utah State University. During her first year at USU, she worked primarily with the softball team. This year, she is excited to be working with women's basketball.
While at Utah State, Melanie will be seeking her Master of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.
Melanie graduated in 2011 from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Spanish.
She was born and raised in Boardman, Ohio. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, playing outside, and being with her cat, Maya.
Josh Holliday, ATC
Whitworth University
Josh is in his second year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working for Utah State University. His primary sport last year was women's basketball. This year Josh will be working with the football team.
Josh graduated in 2011 from Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, with a minor in Psychology. During his undergraduate work at Whitworth, Josh primarily worked with Men's Basketball his senior year.
Josh is currently working on his Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.
Josh was born in Washington, and has spent the majority of his life there. He enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. He also loves to spend time with his fiancé, Ariana.
Adam Raikes, ATC, MS
Temple University
Adam is in his fourth year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Utah State University, and is currently working on his PhD. His primary sport his first year was women's gymnastics. His primary responsibility last year was football. He is currently focusing on research.
Adam graduated in 2009 from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training. Adam earned his Master's of Science in Health and Human Movement with an emphasis in Sports Medicine from Utah State University.
Adam was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He is married to Aneva. He enjoys video games, computer design and repair and spending time with his wife and son. They are also expecting a second son this fall!
Laura Parry, ATC
Washington State University
Laura Parry is in her second year as a Graduate Assistant at Utah State University. Her primary sport last year was football. She will be working with the women's soccer team this season. While at Utah State, Laura will be seeking her Master's of Science Degree in Exercise Science with and emphasis in Sports Medicine.
Laura graduated from Washington State University in May 2011. She received a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training. While at WSU Laura worked with women's basketball and men's and women's track & field. Also, Laura was able to work in many clinical settings outside of Washington State's Athletics.
Laura grew up east of Seattle, Wash. in a town called Sammamish. She enjoys the outdoors and staying active. Laura particularly enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, backpacking, and snowboarding.
